Honey Sriracha Roasted Brussels Sprouts
If you had to guess, what would you think the most popular recipe on Almost Properly is? Never in a million years would I have guessed that it would be a recipe for roasted brussels sprouts. These honey balsamic brussels sprouts to be exact.

So its safe to say that roasted brussels sprouts are having a moment…. or two.
Its so ironic because as a kid I remember my mom serving steamed brussels sprouts with zero seasoning – because thats how my Mom served all steamed vegetables in the 90s – and as with all bland steamed vegetables, I hated them! For some reason steamed cauli, broccoli, and brussels sprouts were the “it” veg to steam and serve as blandly as possible. Oh and who could forget, steamed spinach. If there was ever a most disgusting pile of green mush piled on a plate, I have yet to cross it.
It wasn’t until I discovered the wonders of roasted vegetables in college that things like cooked cauliflower, broccoli, and brussels sprouts regained their appeal. Not to mention, the other roasted veg I love-love-love (carrots, beets, sweet potato, and asparagus: I’m talking ’bout you!).
But roasted brussels sprouts have won my affection throughout the years. And based on the stats from the two roasted brussels sprouts recipes on this site and their appearance as a starter on nearly every restaurant menu, everyone else loves roasted sprouts, too!
Not just us vegetable pushing, left-coast hippies like me. Or at least thats how the hubs would characterize me. 😉
But these honey sriracha roasted brussels sprouts are shave thin and roasted until ultra crispy and caramelized. A.K.A. amazing and addicting! Even the most anti-brussels sprouts person should give them a try!! Its practically spicy vegetable candy.

Addicting easy to make holiday party appetizer anyone? Or a zingy side dish?
- 20 brussels sprouts, shaved or thinly sliced
- 2 garlic cloves, coarsely chopped
- 3 tbsp. olive oil
- 1.5 tsp. kosher salt
- 1/4 tsp. black pepper
- 1 tbsp. + 1 tsp. honey
- 1 tsp. Sriracha
- 1/2 tsp. olive oil
- 1/4 tsp. salt
Preheat oven to 400 degrees. Spread brussels sprouts and garlic on large rimmed baking sheet. Drizzle with olive oil and sprinkle with salt and pepper. Toss to coat and roast for 10 minutes, then flip sprouts and roast for 10 minutes longer.
Meanwhile, in a small bowl, combine all ingredients for honey sriracha sauce and whisk with a fork to combine.
Drizzle over brussels sprouts and toss until well coated. Return sprouts to the oven and roast for 5 minutes longer.
Transfer to serving platter and serve immediately.
